Chateau Palmer, 1973

I recently drank something that was as old as me. I was given a bottle of Chateau Palmer, 1973. A 35 year old bottle of wine. The cork looked like it was gonna fall apart, but somehow managed to remove it in one piece. Amazing what aging does to these things. But I’d never have the patience to just sit on wines and wait for them to age. I just like to drink them, as with most any alcoholic beverage.

この前自分と同じ年のワインを頂きました。３５年も寝かされてきたワインだったので、コルクがもうボロボロ。何とかコルクを上手にぬき、美味しく頂きました。寝かせると変わるものだね。でも、僕はそんな何年もまってられないので、すぐ飲んでしまうと思う。

I went to a Chanko restaurant with some old co-workers. Chanko as far as I know is Sumo-wrestler food. Its just a bunch of veggies and meat in a broth that is either Miso, Soy Sauce, or Salt based. But, put it all together = grub!　http://www.chanko-waka.jp/
